Missouri's Proposition B was passed by the narrowest of margins on 11-2-10.

1.9 million votes were cast with only 60,000 votes separating the two sides for a 51% to 49% victory for Prop B.  When the ballot initiative was proposed, HSUS boasted of a 91% approval rating, which hardly seems to be the case now.  They spent $4.3 million that COULD have gone toward animal welfare to pass a bill that will not help a single animal, and in fact will do more harm than good.

Do you know how many puppy mills will be closed down by Proposition B?

Zero!

HSUS's Proposition B…

● Targets ONLY legal, licensed and inspected professional

breeders regardless of how clean and sanitary the conditions!

Would close MOST of Missouri's properly operated, inspected,

licensed and reputable facilities while doing NOTHING to increase

state resources needed to close unlawful kennels.

Actually lowers the standard now set by the Missouri ACFA by reducing

Missouri's current law of 2 feedings per day to only 1 feeding per day.

● Attacks personal property rights by limiting animal production!

● Limits the number of animals anyone may own, limiting

your rights to make a living on your own farm!

● Allows no stacking of enclosures by licensed breeders while

shelters, pounds, humane societies, rescues and veterinarians

can keep dogs stacked in the exact same enclosures!

● Does nothing to stop unlicensed, substandard facilities from

operating illegally!

Will make it nearly impossible for newborn puppies to survive

with Prop B's new temperature requirements.

Creates a Class C misdemeanor crime of cruelty for a breeder to have

a piece of dog food in a water bowl, a cobweb in a corner of the kennel,

or a scratch on a painted surface.  (I'll bet you never let HSUS into YOUR house!)

● Claimed to have the support of the Missouri Veterinarians, when in fact

Proposition B was opposed by the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.

No one wants to support a puppy mill.  Everyone agrees that they should all be shut down.  A puppy mill is not state inspected or licensed.  If they were inspected, they would have already been shut down by the current laws.  A professional kennel is interested in the breed standard, the health and placement of the puppy as well as being state inspected and licensed.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is not affiliated with your local Humane Society, they simply adopted the title for name recognition.  They are nothing more than an animal activist group.  For every $20 donated to HSUS, less than 10 cents are spent on the care of the animals they SAY they are trying to protect; the rest is used to solicit more funds and for lobbying to eliminate animal ownership and enjoyment!

HSUS is neither humane nor represents any of the

principles that made America great and free.

HSUS is not affiliated with your local animal shelter.  Despite

the ever-present dog and cat fundraising material and commercials.

HSUS is not an organization that runs spay/neuter

programs or takes in stray, neglected, and abused pets.

HSUS is the richest and most powerful

animal rights organization in the world.

(Do not confuse animal RIGHTS organizations with animal WELFARE organizations.)

HSUS spends its money growing bigger - not helping animals.

(HSUS has accumulated over $162 million in assets. Yet, it spends less than one half of one

percent of its entire budget actually helping animals. Over 99% of it’s budget is spent on

lobbying, pensions, salaries, fundraising, and infomercials to raise more money, etc.)

HSUS is deceptive.

HSUS runs infomercials asking for just $19 PER MONTH to help animals. Yet, less then

$1.03 of that $228 actually reaches an animal shelter within the entire year.

So, what does HSUS want?

To abolish all hunting and fishing

If we could shut down all sport hunting in a moment, we would.

Wayne Parcell, Pres. HSUS in an Associated Press (AP) interview

We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to

stop all hunting in the United States.”

Pres. of HSUS

"Every 'responsible breeder' is a 'puppy miller', every 'family farmer' is a

'factory farmer' and every 'responsible hunter' is a 'poacher'."

Pres and CEO of HSUS, in an e-mail, 11-16-2009

To cripple and/or destroy all animal industries

(ie: no pork, beef, chicken, eggs, etc. production - basically

eliminating the United States’ main supply of protein.)

My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture.

John Goodwin, HSUS grassroots coordinator and former member of ALF

(Animal Liberation Front).  ALF was declared a "domestic terrorist" organization

in 2005 by Homeland Security, the ATF and the FBI.

The life of an ant and that of my child should be granted equal consideration.

Michael W. Fox, HSUS senior scholar, AP interview.

To make it impossible for anyone to own pets

Pet ownership is considered slavery to HSUS.

"I don't ever want to see another dog or cat born."

Wayne Parcell, Pres HSUS
