Royal Canin Dog Food

Most puppies will need Puppy 33.  We will tell you if your puppy needs to stay on Babydog 30 for a while when you get it.

The Bolo-Noodle will do well on the Poodle food.

Looking for a crate/cage/kennel?

This is the type/style we recommend:

There is a door in the front and on the side.  The side door is not necessary, but is convenient.  Single door models are available.  There is a tray in the bottom and it is collapsible to take less space for storage or transport.  The size in photo above is for small breeds.  Some of them come with a divider.  Put in a box or use the divider when the puppy is smaller.  The idea is to not give them enough room to go potty in their living area.  As they get larger, put in a smaller box or move the divider giving them a little more room.  Once they are full grown, you can take the box/divider out.  Several sizes are available. The one shown is 24 inches deep, 18 inches wide, 21 inches tall, this is the size for the small breed puppies we offer.  The 42 x 28 x 31 or larger is the size for the large breeds we offer.  Here is a link for the crate we recommend.

NuVet Plus Canine

Looking for nail clippers?

This style is the easiest to use:

Take care NOT to cut too close to the quick.  You can identify the quick by the line of  different color coming to a point out of the nail bed.  It is usually a lighter color than the nail you are going to remove.  Make the cut in front of the quick.  Put the nail in the hole (upper right photo).  Compress the handle and the blade slides forward (lower right photo), clipping the nail.  If you cut the quick, you can expect bleeding.  If you are not comfortable with this, have a groomer or vet clip the nails or show you how the first time, then you can cut them yourself if you wish.

Wee Pads

If you are an apartment dweller or do not have access to a grassy area for your puppy/dog to use the bathroom, a dog can be trained to go potty on a pad.

We do NOT recommend you use wee pads  to house train your puppy because he will learn that he CAN go potty in the house. 

Wee pads should be used only for dogs who will not be able to go potty outside on a regular basis.
